Firepower!

Pumps, Levers, Bolts, AR’s and AK’s. Take your pick. Handy for the next time you need to light a candle. [Nicely done, Weer'd.]

Breda (Shotgun) in Mozambique

One of my long time friends, a fellow firearms afficionado, recently took a job overseas in Pemba, Mozambique.  Knowing how folks are curious about arms in other countries, I wanted to share some pictures of the shotgun that a local security guard carries.  Most security guards there only carry nightsticks; this guard, being quite proud of his gun, [...]

Fantastic: Steam Powered RC Reverse Trike

Get today’s steam fix by watching this (lot’s of nice detail shots): I think maybe it needs a snow plow on the front like that land locomotive Ernie Hudson drove in Spacehunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone (in 3D!).  Nah, it’s perfect the way it is.

New MRE’s: Now with Caffeinated Beef Jerky!

via DVICE There are now 24 different MREs to choose from (up from 12), including items like apple-cinnamon muffin tops, Asian pepper steak, chicken and rice, and beef lo-mein. A brand new snack food is caffeinated beef jerky sticks, which provide as much wake-up power as a cup of coffee. Caffeine + Beef Jerky = WIN! [...]

Pumpkin Headshot (Art Piece)

Pretty cool first picture.  Also, I think #17 is a portrait of a friend of mine…

Browncoat Mixtape: Rap Tribute to Firefly

Normally rap isn’t my choice for listening pleasure, but after Nathan Fillion tweeted this link and commented that it was actually good I had to check out the rap tribute to Firefly. Here the first single from the album: Instant nerdcore gold!  If you like it and want the rest, you can download the whole [...]

I happened to notice this new product at the Brownells website: Darkotic Zombie Splatter Target Made by Birchwood Casey these target utilize the same ‘see your shot’ construction as Shoot-N-C or Dirty Bird targets, only the shots show in a splash of red.    Heh. The Birchwood Casey website shows eight Darkotic different images to choose [...]

.45-70 Silk Purse…

…from a Sow’s Ear. Mosin-Nagants converted to .45-70 An interesting project and apparently well done too.  However, unless you are the do-it-yourself type that already owns a lathe and enjoys a challenge, I would recommend the Marlin Guide Gun before enduring the expense of converting a $90 rifle.

QOTD: Baden Powell

Stumbling around the intarwebz, I found this gem: Long before he invented Boy Scouts, Baden-Powell referred to his camping gear as his “toys,” and he then went on to write, “May it not be that our toys are the various media adapted to individual tastes through which men may know their God?” Found here I [...]
