The Marines have placed a $22.5 million dollar order with Colt for 12,000 flintlock M1911 .45 caliber pistols
Hmm, I thought that the M1911 was currently believed to be a fragile, unreliable, high maintenance relic of a bygone era. What could they be thinking?
Maybe a properly built 1911 pattern pistol is more reliable than some might think. Perhaps even more so than a Glock or H&K.
